Weaving Love ~

AAKHDA is a Humanitarian project I have formed to promote Love among all. One of the projects of AAKHDA is my work with Palestinian women with which I work in handcraft initially using recycled materials to enhance a sense of empowerment within times of crisis but also other products involving the incorporation of their own traditional embroidery to help promote an awareness to their special language of craft.

Kahliya has taken upon itself to sell the products made by these women to help aid in their income.Sometimes Kahliya will create special items surrounding the theme to help fund this project .

Im so excited! This is a new series “Weaving Love “, another part of  project “AAKHDA” inwhich I work with my Palestinian sisters in different themes of creative handcraft to help promote their work, aid in their income and create a dialogue of love !

In this series there is an exciting dialogue between my sisters and myself! I am very enthusiastic about saving and promoting traditional handcraft and in these pieces their traditional Palestinian embroidery is used to create the word “Peace” in cotton thread on white cotton fabric, for which I created  frames by handstitching lovely fabrics!
